I just went there to try and register, and it says that there have already been 2 registrations from my ip address. I know for a fact that I have not been to this website before and I'm the only one in the house who would have gone to a site like this.

For good measure, I connected via two other VPN connections and got the same response.

On the back-end pretty much. Very little else you can do besides optimizations to the installation and add some glitz and glamor. Although I've always thought it would be awesome if they could somehow incorporate user generated NZB's, but that's a whole other subject.

Depends on what your needs are. If you require the API then almost any indexer is worth the small donation so long as the site looks stable and the update process is happening on a regular basis (i.e. < 1 hour). Unfortunately, if you're thinking of setting up an automatic NZB download process never having done so, most sites free or not are limiting the API function which makes it difficult to see if that's what you're interested in. If you like manually downloading nzbx.co isn't a bad place to look.

Well, yeah, I am interested in setting up an automatic NZB download process just like what I did with NZBMatrix. But usually paid indexers provide unlimited API function, right?

Newnab is newsnab, but there is a difference to service provided from each individual provider. EG: server up/down time, server speed, information and advice etc...... nzbgeek.info has unlimited API and grabs for members. For a $1 a month thats covering cost and providing service. You should check out their forums and see what they are up to and where they plan on going from here.
