SAB has stopped downloading

Post by Dr_Pips »

Hi All,

Version: 0.7.14
OS: Windows 8
Install-type: Windows
Skin N/A
Firewall Software: Standard windows
Are you using IPV6? Don't think so
Is the issue reproducible? Can't stop it

I'm a bit stuck. I've been using SAB for well over a year and been downloading perfectly well with it. I've been on a bit of a downloading spree over the last few days and for some reason SAB has stopped dead, half way through a download.

I'm on Astraweb and have an unlimited deal. I've tried testing the server and it says it's fine, and I can download at over 1.1 MB/s through utorrent, so I'm a bit stuck as to what's going on. When I noticed it had stopped I cancelled the download and it started up the next one for a few seconds, but then stopped again.

I'm using Windows, and nothing on my computer has changed that I'm aware of to make it stop. There's nothing in the logs.

Any ideas?

That's bizarre! I noticed that although the download speed was at 0 kb/s the bar was moving along and updating that it was downloading. It got to the end of the download (which failed) now it's started up on another, and seems to be working perfectly again!

I'll post again if it does it again.

We're at 0.7.16 now. At least upgrade.

At what point does it stop? At the end of a job?
Random?
Do do work with a download quota?
Is SABnzbd paused (color or the square at the top right)?

It seems like it's only with certain NZBs. I put the one it had stopped on at low priority, and the one after that downloaded fine. Then back to the one it was sticking on, and stopped again. However, I say stopped, but left it downloading when I went to work, and it had done about another 1gb, by the time I got home, (10hours). So it is downloading, but VERY slowly. It's not paused, so not sure. Don't use a download quota, and if I did, I presume it wouldn't work with a different NZB.

This sounds very much like odd behaviour by the indexer.
What is the time out that you set in Config->Servers?
60 is recommended, but you could try a higher value.

It's set to 120. Should I leave it at that?

Anything between 60 and 120 will do.
The higher, the longer SABnzbd will need to determine whether a server is off-line.
Too short and it will waste its retries and will conclude that the servers doesn't have the goods.
