Hi all, I've recently got a Synology ds214play and installed the sab stuff from the Syno Community. Ive had Sab running successfully for years on my laptop, but what if ow like to happen is to browse for nzb I nzb.su but when I select them for them to download with the Synology rather than the laptop. Is this possible? I asked on the Syno Community forum, but they said to ask here.
Thanks

Re: Sab on Synology
I don't think I quite understand your question.
If SABnzbd is running on the Syno, the user interface will still need to be accessed
from a web browser on your laptop (or another system in your local network).
Can you access SABnzbd on the Syno this way.
If so, uploading an NZB works like it always has.

Re: Sab on Synology
Yes I access SAB through the Synology, (http://192.168.0.23:8080/). If I go to nzb.su and select an nzb though it will send it to SAB on my laptop (http://localhost:8080/sabnzbd/) not the Synology, so it would download to my laptop, then I would have to transfer it and the laptop would have to do all the unpacking etc and I want to do this on the Synology.
Does that make sense?

Re: Sab on Synology
Long ago you told your router to send incoming traffic to a specific port on your laptop,
You now have to tell to send that same traffic to the Syno.
Also you need to tell nzb.su the the API or NZB key that it needs to access SABnzbd on the Syno.
(It's in Config->General).)

Re: Sab on Synology
I don't think I did. I think I just associated SAB with nzb files and it does it that way. Also there's no way to add an API key into nzb.su (that I could find) There's an API key for nzb.su that I will need for Sickbeard and CP etc.shypike wrote:Long ago you told your router to send incoming traffic to a specific port on your laptop,

Re: Sab on Synology
OK, in that case you will need a browser plugin like nzbdStatus for Firefox.
More are listed on www.sabnzbd.org
Associating with .nzb isn't going to work for the Syno.

Re: Sab on Synology
Cool, I've got SABCOnnect++ which was fairly easy to set up. Thanks for the tip.
Only problem now is that I'm getting an error from SAB saying it can't create a folder which I presume is a permissions problem with the Synology. Any ideas how to fix that, or would I better on the Synology forum?
Thanks,
Dom

Re: Sab on Synology
Quite a challenge, setting permissions on a Syno,
since it has to be done on the device, outside of SABnzbd.
SABnzbd can set permissions of new folders, but not ownership and rights of the base folder.
I haven't got the details
