Bunch of unpacking failed errors..

Post by yuppicide »

Someone here helped me so I could download without everything going in a separate folder of it's own. So now everything I have saved in d:\down\usenet instead of separate folders for a tv show and single episode. This way I can quickly find just the video files and copy them, not stupid nfo, sample video, etc. Works fine.

But now I have a new issue:

First off, let's say I want to download a TV show.. let's say Shark Tank new episode Season 6, Episode 16. It downloaded fine in a folder of it's own.

But then I forgot about the thread I created here, so I came and came here and checked it and saw someone replied to me. Since I wanted to test it out, I deleted the files I just downloaded and downloaded it again. Same website. Same "sab" button I used last time. It automatically sends to sab and begins downloading again. Same Usenet provider.

This time it put stuff where I wanted (all files in one directory), but here's what happened.. only an mkv exists.. it's complete, because I opened it and forwarded to the end, so the video plays just fine.

But all the other files that it has downloaded? It stuck them in the incomplete folder.. there's an nzb file, sfv, sample video mkv, nfo file, and srr file. In sab it says:

">>Unpacking failed, unable to find XXXXXXXX.part30.2.rar"

How Shark Tank and the other show even related? I have no freakin clue. Obviously I've XXX'd out the name of the show.. it's just some 80's sitcom.

So, this time I decided to delete that mkv, and clean out my incomplete download folder. I download again.. this time ALL the correct files are where they should be. But I see the same message:

">>Unpacking failed, unable to find XXXXXXXX.part30.2.rar"

So, I click Shark Tank in my sab history and here's what I see:

[shark.tank.s06e16.720p.hdtv.x264-w4f] Unpacked 1 files/folders in 4 seconds
[XXXXXXXX.part66.1] Unpacking failed, unable to find XXXXXXXX.part66.2.rar

Unpacking failed, these file(s) are missing:
XXXXXXXX.s01e01.xvid-phase.avi
[XXXXXXXX.part81.1] Unpacked 0 files/folders in 0 seconds

I did download XXXXXXXX sure, but that was almost a month ago. Actually probably longer. They downloaded fine and I copied them over to my storage drive where television shows are. So they are no longer residing on the drive where my downloads folder is. I also cleaned my incomplete downloads so it's empty.

So, I just did a test and downloaded something else.. I randomly clicked on an older Shark Tank episode to download.. same error.

It's been a few days now. ANYTHING I download gives me the above errors.

Any suggestions to get rid of this error?

Okay so I posted this awhile ago and it's still going on, but now a ne1w problem added to this. Not only do I get this failed message, I am getting a lot of messages that say Unpacking Failed, Archive Requires A Password.

A week or so ago I downloaded something, it had a password. I reported it to the website owner and he removed that nzb.

Ever since then it keeps giving me that error message in everything I download.

You do store all downloads in a singe folder?
If so, the encrypted RAR files might still be in that folder, confusing SABnzbd.
Look for RAR files in your final destination folder.

No RAR files. Only thing in that folder are videos of different types (mp4, mkv, etc), sfv file, nfo file, few nzb's, few mp3's.

So, let's look at what happened tonight.. I queued up 3 files for download.. Bar Rescue S05E11, 12, and 13.

It starts downloading 13.. then it gives me a unpacking failed message that it can't find bar rescue s05e12.rar - of course you can't find that it's not started downloading yet.

So then I get unpacking failed on 12.. it says cannot find bar rescue s05e11.rar.. lol.

But all the stuff seems to unzip fine as I am watching one of the episodes right now.

I suspect there's something odd with the NZB files, possibly some parts land in the wrong NZB.
Please email the set of NZBs to [email protected] (and add the URL of this message).
While you're at it: set Config->Special->enable_recursive off

I am seeing the same issue. I don't have any nzbs to email since one of my attempts to fix was to completely purge my history.

It seems to affect the specific category only which all go in the same folder. I am going to try changing the folder to see if that helps.

If you're not on Windows or Mac, are you sure you have a recent version of unrar?
You need a series 5 version.

Packages to install SABnzbd on anything other than OSX or Windows, are created by third parties.
You'll have to check with the source you got the package from.
SABnzbd just uses whatever par2 and unrar is installed.

@SP: I've sent a pull request to check for that.
