I updated those fields with Sabnzbd stopped. Every field stays full apart from 'email from' field, which resets when Sabnzbd is launched. It also doesn't send the email although the details are correct.

Thanks for trying but it might just be worth abandoning.

Do you see any error messages in the log file (Status- page) after you
send a test mail form the Config->Notifications page?

Sorry for the late reply.

No, I get nothing, it's as though the program doesn't think I've pressed a button. It just displays a message saying it's sent the mail.

Is the browser or some tool trying to be clever with passwords?
If you edit the ini file, start SABnzbd, do not open the Cfg->Notifications page and download an item.
Do you then get an email?

I'd like to add I have this issue also.Im running SAB 0.7.11 on unRAID 5.0 RC14 (slackware I believe??)

Exactly the same symptoms - shows email sent, doesnt retain the Email From setting even when edited via .ini. No errors in log after the 'entry:
2013-02-27 18:43:11,933::INFO::[api:647] Sending testmail

Would love to figure this one out...I have Couchpotato noifying for movie comletion but nothing for TV, Music.

Any ideas?

Sorry. It's a platform that we don't really support.
Especially because it's absolutely hostile to virtualization.
