nothing unfortunately. everything is still idle with stuff in the queue.
i've even tried clearing the cache and adding only recent stuff. still the same. it's very strange!!

You keep on getting the same error messages?
Have you tried another download program?

hmm.. i just tried removing one of the servers but it's still in the connection list. the other remaining server doesn't have any connections.
is there any way of force removing it? i've tried the force disconnect but it does nothing.
downloading manually (using firefox) works fine
cheers,
Rob

I meant, have you tried another Usenet program, like Grabit?
It will at least give an indication about where the problem is located.

it might be an issue with servers connected to via ssl - have you ever seen that before?
i removed the secure server, added the same server again just on port 119 and it now seems to be working.. very strange.
i could do with getting the ssl back on though

thanks for your help,
ROb

Testing with Unison on a Mac, doesn't tell you anything about your Linux system.
Only that your router and usenet account work.
Is SSL installed at all?
How did you install SABnzbd, through a package?

not sure if ssl is installed how do i tell?
yeah it was installed from a package - i would have thought it would have installed everything else as well!

If it's installed from a package its probably complete.
In fact, if it shows the SSL choice, it's very likely to have SSL support installed.
We have very little control over the usage on Linux, because we depend on
what package creators make.
For Windows and OSX we create complete binary installers.

(PS, I'm moving this to the Ubuntu Board).

I was having the same problem around the same time period as rob, I have been using sabnzbd 0.5.4 for awhile on windows vista 64. I just signed up and recently started using nzbmatrix to find nzb files. I began using their "queue" to download multiple combined .nzb files. I think a multiple of 10 can be downloaded at once. I noticed once they were in the sabnzb que they wouldn't download and would cause the problem-download of all files would stop. I don't know if this is the problem or not, does the problem somehow lie with the combined nzb file?  Was Rob downloading from nzbmatrix?

When I test the nzbmatrix queue, I have no issues.
You just get a big fat NZB, which is only a problem when you have a very memory restrained system.
Using matrix's queue is not a good idea though, because it's a singe NZB and SABnzbd will not split it in parts.
I think you're better of using nzbmatrix'es bookmark feature and seting up a bookmark-RSS.
(BTW release 0.6.0 will support automatic unbookmarking too).
