Upgrade Sab 0.6.15 Installed from Ubuntu Software Center

I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on an old P4 box I had lying around (XP to slow). I wanted the whole SAB + SickBeard + DLNA Server unattended setup. Problem is when I installed SAB from the Ubuntu Software Center I got version 0.6.15(I had 0.7 when I was testing XP). At first I thought maybe there was branch between Win versions and Linux, but I found the 0.7 .tar.gz . I'm very tech savy in general, but admit my complete noob-ism to all things linux and would like to know the proper way of upgrading to 0.7 while keeping my config file.

Thank you!

Use the PPA. See howto here: http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/install-ubuntu-repo

I had tried that PPA during an earlier experiment and it gave me a version other then 0.7 (after 0.7 was out). Is it upto date now? Do I just follow the instructions to thee letter or do I need to do something different since I'm upgrading?

See https://launchpad.net/~jcfp/+archive/ppa to check the version ...

Just the three commands in the Howto, and everything will be OK.
