Using the SABnzbd front-end as a daemon.

Post by 1mancantdonuttin »

Is there any way to do this? How does the SABNzbd front-end on Windows connect with SABnzbd? Is the front end gui (the one that shows up in the system tray) actually SABnzbd? Since we can run sab silently without that gui, is it possible to run that gui and connect to a remote sab on another computer on the same network?

I know the Chrome plugin is pretty effective, but I don't always have chrome running on the PC I'm using (different pc/server is running the sab server and fetches using RSS) and I'm trying to find a means of being notified when a download has completed on the server.

Thanks for any replies or suggestions.

SABnzbd is not split between a front-end and back-end.
It runs it own website to which browsers, both local and remote, can connect.
For notifications you can use Growl-for-Windows.
