I had SAB working fine but ended up messing it up after trying to get SickBeard installed. Well sickbeard is running but SAB is not.
I uninstalled SAB and deleted .sabnzbd from /home/jan/ directory after reboot. (it was still there)
I've rebooted and installed SAB, but .sabnzbd is NOT showing up in the /home/jan directory. I can't see sabnzplus as a service (of course), but the sabnzbdplus package with themes is installed as per webmin 1.61 see below

opened up '/var/lib/dpkg/status' which allowed me to 'find' sabnzbdplus which I then deleted the mention.
Went to /home/username and removed all folders/files sabnzbd

Went ahead and reinstalled. Now the service is showing up. Just had to edit /etc/default/sabnzbdplus and set user, host and port and restarted service.
I'm back in. I LOVE how whenever I'm stumped and post something I end up figuring it out myself.

For the record: installing sab never creates ~/.sabnzbd/, the program will do that when it's started for the first time. Any related messages you may see in the terminal at that time are harmless.
