Download Speed 0 kb/s

hey,

I got this problem.
Somehow downloads get Completed , but are actually not downloaded.
When 'downloading' the download speed is near 0 kb/s (mostly around 0,05 kb/s, but actually the 'download' goes very fast)

In the meanwhile I get hundreds of warnings like this:

2008-11-08 19:51:05,578 WARNING [decoder] => missing from all servers, discarding

can anyone help?

Quite simple, the download is no longer on your news provider's server.
Each provider has its own retention time, varying from a couple of days
to 240 days (GigaNews).
The more expensive your news provider the longer its retention time usually is.

I even get the problem with files posted only hours ago.
I know I've already downloaded files 7 days old in the past.

well when you look at the error :

2008-11-08 19:51:05,578 WARNING [decoder] => missing from all servers, discarding

The files are missing from the server you are downloading from.
This can happen sometimes , even with folders that are not that old

This has nothing to do with sabnzbd+ , but is something that happens on your Usenetserver

If you use the Default interface (white and blue), during the download you can see the age of the posted material on the Queue page in the right hand column under AGE. What does that say with your download?

Where did you get the NZB? If on binsearch.info or something like that, post a link / URL. If on a forum, remember that the forum post can be new, but the usenet post could be old.

Thanks for the fast replies but...

The problem occurs with every single NZB I try.
even with those of which the 'AGE' is less than a day.
So that's why it seems quite impossible the servers retention is the issue.

If sabnzbd is getting missing articles, then blame lies on the server and not sabnzbd. What newsgroup provider are you using?

newsgroups.telenet.be

no special payserver or something.

Try enabling the "Send Group" option in Config->Switches.
Some servers require it.

Else try the same NZB with a different program, e.g. Grabit.

I got an actual 'Failed'-folder in my downloadfolder containing nothing.

when I tried again I got the same problem as before,
but this time it really says 'failed' (as before sabnzbd said it was 'completed')

okay,

I tried downloading with Grabit.
Nothing seems to work.
It keeps telling "alt.binaries.x does not exist on this server" with some different kinds of nzb's.

could it be my provider blocked some of the popular groups out ?

Probably, most free providers are pretty bad, there is the only occasional good one. I recommend finding a decent provider, if you want something cheap and good go with astraweb, if you want the best go with giganews

I have the same issue with "newsgroups.telenet.be"    Till Friday everything was fine.

Vdb?  Did you also move to one of the Telenet Shaker Products?

I think the OP is in Belgium, so a EU / Euro based usenet provider could be a good choice: eweka.nl or http://www.speedxs.nl/index/products/usenet/index

And the OP could consider the free IPv6-only newsserver news.ipv6.eweka.nl *if* he/she knows how to setup IPv6. OP: see http://forums.sabnzbd.org/index.php?topic=51 . Warning: setup IPv6 could be difficult, depending on your knowledge and operating system.

No I actually couldn't solve it.
Since I'm not that familiar with downloading this way, I spent alot of time on this problem.
But if you've got the same problem, than I believe the problem lies not with me but with Telenet (as they've told here before).
Telenet must have cut of these groups or something like that.

I keep trying every day.
Let's hope they come back online.

If you should find a solution to the problem (not by paying for a payserver, I'm still a student ), share it with me.

ps: I didn't change to 'telenet shake'. I'm a regular Telenet-expressnet...
