Hello,

I have been using SABnzbd for quite a while now, and never had any problems whatsoever.
Recently I switched from being a Windows-user to Ubuntu.

However, every time I start SABnzbd, the browser window opens.
I unchecked the checkbox during the install, and noticed the browser opened anyway every time I started SABnzbd.
I reviewed the settings - the checkbox Launch Browser on Startup was checked in the 'switches' section of the config.
Every time I quit SABnzbd, like when rebooting my PC, the checkmark returns.

- How do I prevent this from happening so the browser does not start automatically?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're using the desktop menu entry to start the application: the option to start the browser is hardcoded there (for distro policy reasons). Either modify the entry or create a launcher of your own for just the command sabnzbdplus - alternatively run the program as a service from init so it's 'always on' (just set your username in /etc/default/sabnzbdplus) and then access from a web browser bookmark.

First of all, thanks for the swift reply.

My initial plan here was to launch the application automatically at startup using the build-in startup manager called 'Autostart' (Ubuntu/KDE)
I Can choose between a ´Desktop file´ or a ´script file´ to add as a startup entry.
If I understand correctly, 'running the program as a service from init' would have the same result?

- How do I achieve this? I am kind of a newbie in the Linux-world.
- Would it be to much to ask to explain this step by step?
- Or maybe a link or directions to an explanation?

- What username are you referring to?

EDIT: I did some fiddling myself and all works well now.

I opened up the application editor of the ´Kickoff Application Launcher´ and simply removed ´ --browser 1´ from the command section in the general tab, thus leaving only ´sabnzbdplus´ like you mentioned. After this I dragged the Kickoff launcher to my desktop and choose ´link here´
Finally, I opened the Autostart-manager and added the new link as a startup entry under the section 'desktop file'
