Invalid par2 files, cannot verify or repair - again

I have found that when I get a failed file with "Invalid par2 files, cannot verify or repair" I can use parbuddy and reconstitute the file. I have tested/watched a number of these in the last couple of weeks and nothing seems wrong that par buddy cannot fix. I find this pretty strange. I have read other posts, on this subject (probably not all but many) and nobody seemed to mention this one.

Is the issue reproducible? (yes) This does not happen all the time but it does happen.

Post processing
Ignore Samples Filter out sample files (e.g. video samples).
Enable Quick Check Skip par2 checking when files are 100% valid.
Enable Unrar Enable built-in unrar functionality.
Enable Unzip Enable built-in unzip functionality.
Enable Filejoin Join files ending in .001, .002 etc. into one file.
Enable TS Joining Join files ending in .001.ts, .002.ts etc. into one file.
Enable Par Cleanup Cleanup par files (if verifiying/repairing succeded).
Fail on yEnc CRC Errors When article has a CRC error, try to get it from another server.
Post-Process Only Verified Jobs Only perform post-processing on jobs that passed all PAR2 checks.
Enable SFV-based checks Do an extra verification based on SFV files.
Check result of unpacking Check result of unpacking (needs to be off for some file systems).

Has it happened before or did it begin to appear later on?

I found out about it when I thought I would check one for the heck of it about two weeks ago. I have no idea how long its been going on. It does, however, seen to be pretty consistent in that anytime I see that particular notification I can invariably reconstitute the program. I have only checked out a couple but they have both been good. I have looked over a couple of others (beginning and end) just to make sure I had the whole thing and the length seemed correct. I was hoping you would tell me I screwed up <g> (which would also allow me to fix what I did wrong and everything would be dandy)

I will do that the next time it happens. I have all the used ones but I want to make sure that I will be sending one that is the right one so it may be a couple of days.

I got the same issue with 0.7.14
When i roll back to 0.7.11 the files will unpack/par when i press try again without adding anything.
When i try that with 0.7.14 they keep failing.
So my temp solution will be to roll back to 0.7.11

I'm running sab on FreeBsd (NAS4Free)

That message does not help me. Please email an example.

It's very likely an issue with the operating system or the of the par2cmdline program for that OS.
We're looking at a work-around for that.

I too am having this issue. It is happening on my Mac OS X 10.9, any help?

Try again with Config->Special->par2_multicore set to "off".

Thanks for the fast reply. I unchecked it, saved changes, restarted and still had the same error. I am trying to download a file that was not started with that option on to see if that helps. Any other thoughts?

The change is valid for any running job or retry of a failed job.
It is of course possible that the job simply isn't repairable.
par2 files can be so damaged that they cannot be used.
What does the download report say. Were there many missing articles?
