Updating from 0.7.12 on Ubuntu 11.10

Hi there,

I tried to update my sabnzbd from ppa but it seem to keep version 0.7.12.
After a few tries I checked the ppa for my installed version of ubuntu (11.10, oneiric) and saw that there is only 0.7.12 supported.
How do I update this to a newer version now?
Could I download the source code, compile it and change/overwrite the old files? I'd like to my Ubuntu Version.

Thanks in advance
Besessener

Ubuntu 11.10 itself is not supported anymore. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ub ... f_versions . So no more updates for that Ubuntu version.

Yes, you can download the SABnzbd source code and run it. No need to compile; SABnzbd is written in python.

Oh thanks.
Can I run SABnzbd with pythong as a daemon too?
If not is there a solution for running it in background?

Yes, you can. See http://sabnzbd.wikidot.com/install-as-a-unix-daemon

But as you have to ask this, I guess using a supported Ubuntu version (and thus a PPA available) is easier for you.
