hello guys,

I have a fresh sabnzbd default install on my windows 7 box, using supernews I am able to get ~11mb/s download speeds. I have another box running a fresh ubuntu 14.04 server install and fresh sabnzbd install.... testing them back to back, the ubuntu box gets around 6mb/s and the windows box gets 11mb/s. both machines are physically next to each other and connected to the same switch. any thoughts on how to begin tweaking the ubuntu box or is there something I am missing?

Sysload on the ubuntu box right now Sysload: 0.80 | 1.48 | 1.57 | V=3532M R=103M it has 24gb memory. running version 0.7.16

any thoughts are much appreciated.

additional info... i played with the number of connections.... and 5 connections it drops to about 2MB/s and when I up it to 15-18 connections, it seems to be fastest around 6MB/s. I always thought less connections helped make it faster here?

well, in case anybody else comes across this... on the windows box.... 10 connections is fastest... on the ubuntu box, i upped connections to 45-50 and now am getting the same speeds.... with 10 connections it was extremely slow.

makes no sense, but thats my experience. best of luck to anybody else who stumbles on this.

Indeed, my experience is exactly the opposite, in that Ubuntu is faster that Windows on the same hardware.
Thanks for the tip.
