sabnzbd with a vpn

Hi

I have SABnzbd running successfully on Kodibuntu, with Sickbeard. I would now like to make use of a vpn, but when the vpn is active, SABnzbd will not download files. Everything else seems to work fine - Sickbeard, browsing, etc. If I deactivate the vpn, downloads resume. I assume it is a routing problem but cannot find help on how to solve this. Suggestions would be much appreciated!

The issue here is unlikely to be with sab: it neither knows nor cares how traffic to the usenet server(s) is routed.

Your vpn provider may try to block usenet traffic (sustained high traffic volumes aren't universally liked), your usenet provider may also be involved (e.g. to prevent various forms of account sharing); with an isp-based usenet service a vpn would put you outside their customer ip ranges. And so on. Use debug logging in sab or tools such as telnet to figure out what's actually going and what's not.

Thank you, I will look at that. Helpful to know that sab is vpn agnostic...
