have begun getting 'unusable rar' error

I recently changed some categories so that I could save the resulting downloads without creating a job folder (Ending the path with an asterisk * will prevent creation of job folders.).

This has at times resulted with it being reported as a failed download with the stage failure 'Unusable Rar file'. However, the file is indeed extracted/created and moved correctly.

The destination is a remote volume, here is a snip of the error from the sab email...

Stage Unpack
[yyyyyyyyyyyyy.2016.1080p.bluray.x264] Unpacked 1 files/folders in 7 mins 54 seconds
[._folders][/Volumes/x264-9/.TemporaryItems/._folders.501] Unusable RAR file

As mentioned above, the file is created and works fine.

This is the folder/path for the category: /Volumes/x264-9/* (I have also tried it as /Volumes/x264-9*) same result either way.

Sab (just updated to 1.0.1, happened on last few releases since I changed path and added *) itself is running on iMac, OS X 10.11.4

I should add, sometimes the email reports that it was completed successfully, others it is reported as failed. However, whatever the end status reported is, I still receive the 'unusable rar' in the stage unpack report.

Any help/info would be appreciated.

Does everything work OK when you leave out the * ?
Unusable RAR files can happen anyway.

Yes, it works fine either way. I just no longer wish to have the result of the download to be in a job folder.

Been using sab for years, never had it happen until I used the *

Is there some kind of older stray RAR file in the final destination?
Possibly SABnzbd want to keep unpacking that one.

No, there is no rar files left over. Occasionally, a file or two that I have set to be cleaned up, will be left behind (Im guessing because sab thought it was failed and aborted processing, but never a rar).

I do have it set to remove samples after download.

Does it happen 1) consistently 2) randomly 3) with specific NZB files?

I get the unusable error consistently, though sab does not always report it in the email as failed. I havent looked close enough yet to see a pattern, but every download that goes to a category that has a *, will get the unusable rar in the report, but may or may not be tagged as failed. But the unpack itself occurs correctly.

Does not seem to be specific to any nzb. When I first noticed the error being reported, I tried the next few nzb without the * and they worked fine, when I added the * back again, I got the error.

Again, it does unpack correctly, though sometimes it does not clean up some of the files I have tagged for cleanup, If I recall correctly those files were left behine when it was reported as failed. I will keep a closer eye on that.

For now I have enough information to test.
I will get back to you.
