I am new to sabnzbd and I am having quite some downloading problems. Around 50% of all downloads can't be repaired. I either got the message that some files failed to verify, some have missing files and others do not show any error, but still the file can't be opened.
Can someone provide some information of what i might make wrong?

What operating system? What version of Sabnzbd?
What do you try to download? Movies? TV shows?

Os is Windows 10 the version of Sabnzbd is 1.1.1 and I am trying to download movies (size between 1GB to 5 GB).

If you're really new to usenet, then you might not be aware of retention times, "pretention" times (letting the post fully upload/complete) or DMCA takedowns. It's quite possible that the post was removed/nuked by request of an org. Or, there is just some jerk out there overwriting the posts, as anyone can overwrite anything on usenet (on most popular servers at least, if it's even server specific I don't know).

I don't know about overwriting, but indeed DCMA is why you're seeing all these failures.
Especially movies get uploaded not too often (unlike popular TV shows) and get taken down super quickly.
Only with automation like couchpotato and sonarr you can be quick enough.. But getting older movies (older than released a month ago) is almost impossible.

okay, I got it. Thank's for the info. I am using Quickpar and it can repair almost all the older movies.

So you download them using SAB, which says it can't repair, but then when you run Quickpar it is able to repair the same files anyway?

Nope, I am using NZB to download and Quickpar repaired so far around 95% of all downloads

Why not let SAB do the repair?

I guess I understood you wrong. Of course, I am downloading using SAB and it does a big part of the repair, but for many movies that are not enough, that's where Quickpar comes in.

Could you send me one of these NZBs that only can be repaired using QuickPar? [email protected]

i just encountered such a download. which files do you need and how, its a 17GB download with many files. Quickpar windwos version did the repair whereas sabnzb could not.

in the last month i got some downloads that did not repair.

so today i subscribed with a second usenet provider.

but that didnt help (created a nzb with teh par's and did sabnzb load them).

so i thought: how to show which files are damaged in sabnzb? i could not figure out.

so i remembered: quickpar does show!

so i launched quickpar and it could repair it without re-downloading any files.

so maybe there really is something.

sab nzb 0.7.20 - was there a par-change to 1.1.1.? on ubuntu-devs there still is 0.7.2. - no update.
