usenet server with only f.e. SABnzbd as front-end .. which server?

Hello
I've tested a certain usenet server (Free-Usenet Server) with SABnzbd as a front-end with success. I can download something.
But with a normal usenet-reader (f.e. Usenet Explorer) .. the test was unsuccessful .. error 482.....
What kind of usenet server does it belong to? transit server?
Which differences between it and servers like Astraweb & Giganews ...
And which kind of servers can supply SABnzbd with data? .... & reader server?
Where can I read more about such servers?
