sabnzbd not accessible?

I just installed sabnzbd on a VPS, using just apt-get install sabnzbdplus.
however I'm running into a problem, that I'm not able to access the webUI using IP:8080.
I used command
ssh [email protected] -L 8888:localhost:32500
and tried 'local port', localhost:8888 works just fine.
then I tried some different ports like 9090, 9091, 32500, same issue.
anyone have any idea how to fix this?
