M1 Mac running OS X 12.1 can't launch ANY version of SABnzbd+

Post by HorseCalledHorse »

Old 2010 Mac finally died so I moved to an M1 iMac running OS X Monterey 12.1 and find myself unable to launch ANY version of SABnzbd+. Tried the current stable (3.4.2) and beta (3.5.0RC4) as well as a few older versions and I can't get it to load.

Guessing it's a sandboxing/security issue peculiar to newer versions of OS X but I can't figure out how to overcome it. I'm asked if I want to allow the app to run and click yes, but it doesn't seem to register.

I know it's been running for other users on the forums so trying to figure out what's going wrong. Console messages when I attempt to launch below:

… and feel free to ignore me, because deleting the SABnzbd folder in user/Library/Application Support seems to have done the trick and has taken me to the Quick-Start Wizard.

Shows how long it's been since I switched systems - I was still looking at the hidden .sabnzbd folder in user/Library…

Anyway, if anybody else strikes the same problem you know what to do.
