Awesome diagnostics.
So in answer to the questions you had earlier (but I suspect irrelevant now).
Ubuntu 20.04 vm running on hyper-v. Disk for Sabnzbd is a dedicated virtual disk to that vm.
Sabnzbd would be latest (kept updated by watchtower): image: linuxserver/sabnzbd

I’ll try force updating the 7z as mentioned.
My category folder is set to magazines/* - to stop it creating subfolders

I saw in you diagnosis you saw overwriting errors. As opposed to invalid characters:

Code: Select all

I will of course update 7z as mentioned an retry this test - I wanted to verify that it had the same error - so this is before updating 7z.

And here is what is left after the unpacking fails in my magazines completed directory:

And after the downgrade - most of these PAPERCLIPS ones where failing - so here was another which now worked:
https://pastebin.com/A83f3eJ8

How do we go about get linux server to fix their image?

So @psycik, in SABnzbd use option overwrite_files in config -> special . So turn it on, and problem goes away!

I don't have that turned on, but that 2nd download after downgrading worked......so must be something funny with the version 17 of 7z.

Yes, but turn it on. Otherwise, with a fresh start of LSIO SABnzbd (and thus with 7za 17.04) you get the error again.

oh so it's not the 7z version but that overwrite that is the proper fix?

the SAB option overwrite_files is easier and persistent. So better.

Cool so I've made that change as well then.

Good. And the download now goes OK?

yeah there were about 20 of those sounding ones that would have failed pre-change.
I have that setting on, but also the downgraded 7z. So both, either of those fixed all those download. I'll see what happens next time watchtower updates the image.

There was a bug in 17.03 that did this, probably in 17.04 as well. https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/69253

Try upgrading or downgrading to 17.02 if you can.

FWIW: I created a bug report with LSIO: https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-s ... issues/164

No word on when it will be fixed though.
