Question about 4.2.1 - system requirements

Hey all, long-time user here with a question about the 4.2.1 release. The downloads page says for macOS :
(macOS 10.9+ and M1/M2)
I'm still running Monterey (macOS 12.7.2) because my iMac is old enough that I can no longer upgrade, so clearly I do not have an M1/M2 chip. I'm trying to interpret what the "
and M1/M2" means here. Surely this isn't saying that Intel processors are
not supported when 10.9 is also specifically listed...?
I tried installing it and it failed to load, so I wanted to make sure I wasn't butting up against a failure to meet minimum system requirements for the version before wasting the time to troubleshoot further.
Thanks a bunch,
sandra

Ah! Intel is good. MacOS version counts
Stange wording indeed

Feel free to suggest a better wording (needs to be short) to indicate it supports macOS 10.9 and above, for all systems including M1 and M2

Thank you for clarifying! Much appreciated. Will have another go at upgrading later.
Maybe something like this?
macOS 10.9 and later (Intel / M1 / M2)
or
macOS 10.9+ (Intel / M1 / M2)
Usually if the OS supports the hardware, it's not necessary to restate supported processors, so in this case since there are machines out there now with M3 chips, this would make it super clear which processors are supported. (Am a technical writer and used to write system requirements for the product I was responsible for documenting)
Thanks again!

Just to follow up on the initial post: this time when I swapped out 4.1.0 for 4.2.1, everything worked flawlessly
Thanks again!

I expect the M3 should work too. So then;
macOS 10.9 and later (Intel / Apple Silicon)
