Watch folder not working after configuring/enabling SOCKS5 proxy in SABnzbd

Post by xy16644 »

Hi All

Thanks to the developer of SABnzbd, what a fantastic piece of software!

I've been using SABnzbd only for a few days so am still getting familiar with it. I have a watch folder configured so when an nzb file downloads it automatically gets added to SABnzbd. This has been working great until...

The problem I have is that when I enable the SOCKS5 proxy in SABnzbd the watch folder stops working. I can still manually add NZB files into SABnzbd from the watch folder without any issues but it doesn't work like it did before where it was automatic. This also proves that the SOCKS5 configuration is correct as when I add the NZB file manually to does download via the SOCKS5 proxy. It's just that the watch folder doesn't work. I checked the logs and tried restarting after enabling the SOCKS5 proxy but it didn't help. I did look at the wiki so I knew how to enter the SOCKS5 proxy in the correct format.

If I remove the SOCKS5 proxy server from the SABnzbd config then the watch folder starts to work correctly straightaway!

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Thank you :D

That's really interesting.
Can you enable Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window, then restart SABnzbd with Socks5 enabled.
Then add a file to the Watched folder.
Click Show Logging in the Status Window after a while and check near the end of the logging.

Ok, I've done that. SOCKS5 is enabled again and SABnzbd has restarted. The NZB file is sitting in the watch folder and nothing has happened.

I had a look in the log but not sure what to look for? I didn't see any errors but could see my watch folder listed there along with the SOCKS5 proxy details.

What happens if you trigger a Watched Folder readout from the hamburger menu?

Could you maybe email me your logs and also maybe your socks5 config? Then I can try it out. You can change your username/pass after this ;)

Can I send that to you via DM rather than email?

I just installed 4.3.0RC1 and I can report that my watch folder now works when I have the SOCKS5 proxy enabled/configured.

Thank you very much for your help and assistance. SABnzbd is awesome :D
