NAS died - can’t get SAB working on new NAS

Post by ShacoUnica »

Hi everyone,

My Synology NAS died and I have lost everything. I have set up a new Synology NAS and have just installed SABnzb. It has been. A very long time since I did this previously.
I used default settings, copied NZB key to my indexer and opened up port 8080 TCP/UDP on my router.
My indexer site says it has “added to queue” as it always does, but nothing is happening on SAB.
I have restarted server, router but still nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas? Very frustrated with losing my original NAS and not being able to get new one working.
Thanks in advance.

Did you add your Usenet providers as servers?

Have you tested them?

If your indexer supports bookmarks/carts, might be safer to configure SAB to access your bookmarks via an RSS feed. This means SAB will pull your NZBs instead of the indexer pushing them.

What is so frustrating is that everything I have done used to work previously. I wonder if it is something to do with permissions on my NAS. The DSM 7 looks a bit different to how I remember sadly.

In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, click Test download 1GB. After downloading,

... does it download, without errors?

Ok so an update.
If I manually drop nzb into watch folder SAB will download and extract - so that’s significant progress.
However I still can’t get NZB Planet to automatically send Nzb to SAB despite having the correct IP/port and NZB api key.
It always used to work. Any ideas?
Thanks

It has to do with portforwarding, fixed ip on lan, and possibly CGNAT. And that's difficult stuff.

So ... easier: RSS feeds. Let SABnzbd pull from your indexer. With your webbrowser, go to your indexer, and find the RSS URL for "cart". Put that URL into SABnzbd's RSS settings ... done.
