Unpack after each part is downloaded?

Post by TorAtle »

Would it be possible to do the parity check and upacking for each single part, continously extracting the archive? With a plugin like nzbdStatus for FF it would probably be possible to automatically start a movie within a minute after hitting the download button.

No it isn't.
The unrar utility doesn't support this.
If you have a media player that is capable of playing directly
from rar files, it might be possible.
Although the current design with a temporary and a final folder
makes that difficult too.
Also you are assuming that each download is error-free.

Ok, thanks. It might be possible to download pars and repair a single rar if it was corrupted, but it's a moot point anyway if the unrar doesn't support it.

We may look at this again for a future releases.
But there are plenty of other pressing issues to be resolved.
