Category directory permissions

Post by ab »

All directories (main category and tv directories .. probably also group ones) get created with different permissions than what the actual post directories get created with.

The posts seem to respect the config option regarding custom permissions yet the category folders dont.

In my case this resulst in the category folders getting created with drwx------ instead of drwxrwxrwx permissions. (i have drwxrwxrwx set in the config). I believe the categories should respect the same config option as the post folders (and files) do when they are created.

Hi,

I have a similar problem but a bit different I believe.

On my system the category directory get the correct permissions 0777 the usenet group folder does not (only 700) and the folders below do get the correct permissions (0777).

This means that after a download I can access the category folder remotely but have to change the access rights on the usenet folder manually to be able to get to the actual post.
The actual post directory on itself has the proper access rights.

Maybe I can fix this by just disabling the option Create group Folders: but nevertheless it sounds like a bug, don't you agree?
Version 3.4 does not show this problem running with the same settings.

Very strange, because the group folders feature was not changed.

Newzbin category permissions were different from 0.3.x to 0.4.x -- I reported this before you released 0.4.0 Beta 1.

I was referring to "Group Folders", which is not the same as (newzbin) "Category folders".

Hi,

I have tested with removing the create group option but the result is the same but now the series directory gets the wron permission instead of the group folder.

It looks that it has something to do with the first folder that gets created under the category folder, that one gets the wrong permissions.

We are overhauling the post-processing code now.
There was so much junk in, that adding new features gives these kind of problems.
We'll fix all of this stuff.

The categories are OK already, it's just that the root directory (e.g. /bla/movies) does not get proper rights.
If you give that folder (probably a very permanent one)  the right permissions it's OK.
The job-based folders already get the right permissions.

Still an issue in B5 :(

Show name is not following my stated permissions (777) - Season name, ep, etc all fine.

Also, would be great if you could tick a box under TV sorting that said "Delete NFO" or something - I need them for apps, etc just not TV.

Not really,  I have 4 Beta5 running but I still have the directory permisson issue, but only with my series subcategory which is downloaded/added through RSS filters.
