PC shutdown doesn't work always

I usually start downloading when I go to sleep. I toggle "shutdown when finished", so the pc shuts down when everythin is done. The problem is that it sometimes doesn't shut down, however the queue is perfectly done (repair+extract+delete).
I use 0.4b5 and have encountered the problem 4 times, of the 10 times I used that option.

Did you check the logging? Did SABnzbd try to shutdown the computer? You should
look for the text "Performing system shutdown".
Check in Config->Folders where the logging files are.
The latest logging file is also available for download on the Connections page.

Sometimes it's just Windows that doesn't want to shutdown.

Thanks for the tip, but I can't find the command in the logs:

Post-processing finished, resuming download
Hmmm, do you have the "no download during post-processing" option on?
I must check if there's a connection between that and the lack of shutdown.
Somehow SABnzbnd doesn't realize that it's queue is empty (hence no shutdown).

Could you try the "Hibernate" function instead?
Just to see if it's a end-of-queue problem or that the shutdown itself does not work.

I tried the shutdown & the hibernate function and neither of them worked. I also couldn't find anything in the logs.

Shutdown:

the "shutdown SABnzbd+ after finish" doesn't work either, just tested it...
Also nothing to find in the logs...

When I woke up this morning the PC was still turned ON.
No other apps running.

I will try setting it to "Shutdown SABnzbd.."
I will report back later..

** Update
"Shutdown SABnzbd.." worked.
Strange.

Will report back if it happens again!

Maybe it's asking a lot of your patience, but what I want to know is whether SABnzbd misses "end-of-queue" or the shutdown command is not always effective.
When the system does not shutdown, does it still say in the logging "Shutdown SABnzbd" ?
So far I have not been able to reproduce either cause.

Yes.

I could try to reinstall.
It could solve my problem - but not fix the bug.

Log - pretty much like the one above :-)

Queue has finished, launching: (None)
If this is always present, then at least SABnzbd sees that the end of queue is reached.
This would mean that the shutdown of the OS itself is not reliable.
Now I know that there are factors that may prevent the OS from shutting down,
but these are outside the control of SABnzbd.
Some people have SABnzbd launch a script containing their favorite shutdown utility.

BTW: re-installing SABnzbd isn't going to solve problems.
Should you have a seriously damaged queue, you'd better use the --clean option when starting SABnzbd.

Only things i can think of is:
1) I have Truecrypt full OS encryption on the OS (I have had that since the release)
2) Im using RPD to connect to the PC, but I log off when I test it.
3) I recently installed XP SP3.

My queue is completely empty, cause I delete the files (sometimes) when testing.

Some small fixes were made to the shutdown feature after RC2.
So RC3 should be a bit better.

I have not seen such problems with either SP3 or RDP.
I have no experience with TryueCrypt in full mode, but I doubt that it will be a problem.
