sab not working

hello, so ive been trying to get this sabnzbd working for days now and havent gotten anywhere so anything will help. everytime i start sab, it pops up a log in promt in front of a blank page waiting to load saying 'log in required from local host 8080 the site says 'sabnzbd'. so of course i tried the user/pass that i set up with sab during the setup wizard with no luck. i also tried my newshosting un/pw, no luck. i use linux and tried to change the un/pw thru terminal but there is no option. when i try to stop sab i get; SABnzbd+ binary newsgrabber: not configured, aborting. See /etc/default/sabnzbdplus. when i try /etc/default/sabnzbdplus i get;bash: /etc/default/sabnzbdplus: Permission denied. or when i do sudo /etc/default/sabnzbdplus it says command not found. im lost and ready to give up but i dont want to torrent anymore. PLEASE HELP!

Stop SABnzbd first.
Search your hard disk for the file sabnzbd.ini
The open it and check for this:
username =
password =

See /etc/default/sabnzbdplus. when i try /etc/default/sabnzbdplus i get;bash: /etc/default/sabnzbdplus: Permission denied. or when i do sudo /etc/default/sabnzbdplus it says command not found. im lost and ready to give up but i dont want to torrent anymore. PLEASE HELP!

try this instead

sudo nano /etc/default/sabnzbdplus

and tell sab which user will run it. Did you read here?http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/install-ubuntu-repo
