RC5

Post by methanoid »

I was interested to see "speed improvements" listed in the ReadMe...

Any idea of the scale of these? Might be academic as I might switch from a NAS to a PC for SABnzbd use but it never hurts to know!

Not sure, not all of us have speedy internet connections  :-[

One OSX tester reports this for his macbook:
i went from 600kB/s to ~2000kB/s average
it was using a lot of my system, with the python process, around 50% on core duo
Maybe the 50% is actually 25%, since SABnzbd can use only one core.

So we're not sure, but it is an improvement.

I know Methanoid has a LinkStation Pro... as do I.  ;D

My tests (based on max throughput of 2000kB/sec on my connection):

sabnzbd with SSL: 500kB/s
sabnzbd, NO SSL: 1000kB/s
nzbget, NO SSL: 1975kB/s
