If it possible use Unrar 4.01, its a lot faster compared to the 3x.
at least 30% with multimedia content.
i just replaced the binary manually and it sab worked flawless with it.

Noted. We're a bit conservative with replacing tools that have oroven their stability.

For the repo, it uses whatever is available in standard Ubuntu repositories for your release, currently 4.0.3 for 11.04/natty, and 3.9.* for any somewhat recent release. There's no unrar package on the ppa, if only because I don't fancy having to provide any support for that.
