The download page found here: http://sabnzbd.org/download/ says:
Installing under Ubuntu is now extremely easy as of Jaunty thanks to jcfp and other users who have helped. Install using the following commands:

sudo apt-get install sabnzbdplus
sudo apt-get install sabnzbdplus-theme-smpl
sudo apt-get install sabnzbdplus-theme-plush
sudo apt-get install sabnzbdplus-theme-iphone

Then open and edit /etc/default/sabnzbdplus

For older Ubuntu versions, use the custom repository maintained by user jcfp. See this thread for details.
I installed a brand new Ubuntu 10.04 server and ran apt-get install sabnzbdplus and it installed 0.5.0. Am I missing something? The way the download page reads to me is that the extra repository isn't necessary anymore. Am I incorrect?

Thanks very much,

Yes, you're missing the last line of your quote: you do have an older Ubuntu version, haven't you? So if you want the recent SAB, use jcfp's PPA. Check out https://launchpad.net/~jcfp/+archive/ppa

EDIT:
This overview will show the version of the SABnzbd package per Ubuntu version: http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?searc ... ds=sabnzbd
So 10.04 indeed has SABnzbd 0.5 in the main repository ...
