Re: Sabnzb & HTTP Proxy?
A vpn is not a (http) proxy. Connecting to an nntp server via a vpn does not require any changes in sab and works fine as is. All of " Privacy, Protection, Anonymity, Hidinng One's True IP, etc.. " can be achieved by using a vpn if one feels the need. Makes you wonder if there's a real li...

Re: Sabnzb & HTTP Proxy?
I did make the title of the post HTTP, but I'm also referring this to the fact that you can use OpenVPN and have VPN types of proxy you can use, which I believe follow as a type of HTTP proxy, at least in the respect to you add them into any applicatiion that can use an HTTP proxy in the same way to...

Re: Stay Away From Astraweb - Bad Company
Yes no plaintext, no hashing, no salting, no encryption, that's certainly not good.... BUT when a company starts acting like a big FInancial Institute, or a form of Government that has to store your data like this, then that is not good, I don't see that they have any legal right to do so... Is ther...

Sabnzb & HTTP Proxy?
I've read some posts that have been made going back a few years over this subject and one post showed people getting a proxy to work by editing some of the files in sabnzbd I believe...
So can this be done and if so can we expect to see a GUI option in Sabnzbd to connect through a HTTP Proxy?
THANKS

Stay Away From Astraweb - Bad Company
Astraweb, according to their Policy wants to keep your personal information on file indefinitely; http://www.news.astraweb.com/privacy.html Ok not a problem, just sign up with fake information, but regardless, some unsuspecting person(s) might not do this and realize the consequences. Retaining data...

Re: Check Before Download - Password Archives?
No, if you want to avoid encrypted archives, set ""Action when encrypted RAR is downloaded" to "pause" or "abort". "Check before download" has a completely different purpose. Ok, well, it's already on a Default setting of pause and this rarely does much ...

Re: Check Before Download - Password Archives?
shypike wrote:The two options are unrelated.
If SABnzbd can detect encryption at all, it will use the "Action when encrypted RAR is downloaded" option to decide what to do.
So all that can be done is just use; 'Check before download'?
THANKS

Re: Check Before Download - Password Archives?
So check mark also; 'Abort jobs that cannot be completed', that's all?
Does this help for password archives?
I sure hope something can be done to improve....
THANKS

Check Before Download - Password Archives?
Hi Guys, Isn't one of the points of 'Check Before Download' to help with password protected archives so you don't have to deal with that crap? Well if this is true it's not working all that great and I really hope in some future versions this can become more fool proof, because I think this is reall...

Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (23 short)
Hi, I'm running Slackware 14.0 x86 and I compiled from source 0.7.7 On this NZB search; [removed] I downloaded all the [removed] from number 54-58 When the download was over it said; Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (23 short) But when I opened up the folder and clicked on a rar it opened and...

Re: Any Way To Check For Password Protected Rar At Beginning
It already does, provided the option is on and the NZB has more than one RAR file. Is this the option? --> 'Pause job when encrypted RAR is downloaded' If that is correct this does not work, all I download off of Usenet are files that are multi rar archives and 9 times out of 10 it will only tell y...

Re: Any Way To Check For Password Protected Rar At Beginning
Hmm, well, I'm not so sure about people using cloaking tricks, from what I've seen in the past these are only password protected archives, so if that's the case, can anything be done with sabnzbd to detect this right away in the beginning? If it is already doing this, then I don't see this working, ...

Re: Any Way To Check For Password Protected Rar At Beginning
I take it we're talking about this option? 'Pause job when encrypted RAR is downloaded' Problem is most of the time it doesn't do anything until a download has completed, can't tell you how many times I've sat waiting 20-30mins to then later be told it's a password protected archive... Isn't there a...
