4.4.1 + Intel Mac Mini: NAS disconnects

Post by HashNotAdam »

Recently, I've been finding that, when sabnzbd is running, my Intel Mac Mini will constantly drop the network connection to my NAS. I've never seen this happen before and, even though I also download via other apps, the disconnections only occur when sabnzbd is running.

I suspect the problem somehow relates to running it on such an old device, but I'd like to find a way to validate where the problem exists before buying a new server. Any thoughts on how to debug that?

I'm also noticing that sabnzbd is hanging sometimes. When I go to check on it in the menu bar, I just get a spinning wheel

Also getting weird errors like "Cannot create directory" when the directories exist and, if I reboot, it can write to them. If I keep reconnecting the NAS, it has no issues saving files to the directories it says it can't create

From the Mac, for what do you use the NAS? So:

- SAB's Incomplete aka Temp on NAS? Not good! Put it local on your Mac
- SAB's Complete on NAS? Should be OK ... if your NAS and LAN can hande it.

So:

Test with Incomplete on your MAC: still disconnects? If so, put Complete on your MAC and test again
