Do you experience problems during downloading?
Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings.
Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

Do you have another browser window open that connects to SABnzbd.
Maybe with a different skin?
From anotger PC?
Hmmm, that could be the problem maybe, I checked my server PC (the one running Sab) and it had an open browserwindow in which I hadn't logged in yet.... (I still had to enter username and passwd)
I'll check tomorrow if there are new warnings....

Here I am again, I looked at the problem again and it looks like it starts when I connect with my MacBook to the server, I don't know if this helps but this is what I found.
Just to add, it was the only browser window open, nothing was running on any other computer

Do you have nzbdstatus firefox extension installed at all? That is a third party extension.
It currently triggers the warning about authentication missing when the browser first launches as it has to check whether authentication is required or not. Hop4efully there will be a solution/compromise in the not too distant future.
"So basically until SABnzbd puts in a way to see if a password is needed without it logging a password failure, some group will see unneeded warnings (not errors) in their log."
I'm not sure it is going to be fixed in nzbdStatus. Hey its annoying but I can live with it

Nope, I am using Safari on my MacBook, it's not that annoying, I just clear the errors now and then..

There's also a (not recommended) option in Config->General
to switch off the api-session stuff.
It's not related to that since I have the api key disabled and still get the error. It's the way nzbdStatus handles password authentication.
On first launch it now queries sabnzbd to see if it requires password authentication and it's this that causes the warning.
It's an issue with nzbdStatus and was changes to be like this in .12 after some folks requested it to be handles this way - lord knows why!
Hopefully the guys behind nzbdStatus can change this else we just get used to clearing the log now and then
I have SABnzbd running on Windows and Mac. Accessing either from Windows is ok. Accessing either from Mac Firefox (with no extensions) generates this issue for me (the warning about missing authentication when the SABnzbd homepage is accessed). Safari does not. This leads me to believe it is a Firefox SABnzbd problem.

Rather a Firefox issue, I would say.
If the problem comes from a SABnzbd itself, then one of the skins.
could contain an incorrect API call (there's a special API for templates).
Not likely, because all browsers would be equally affected.
Which skin are you using?
Nice idea, but hard to implement because we use a third-party webserver
that doesn't pass on that info.
Also, it wouldn't help when the problem is on your own system.
i'd like to point out that Episode Butler also does this. Even after i DISABLED the SABnzbd option. I donno if this is just a 0.5.0 RC3 issue since I just started using Episode Butler today after I updated.
You get the Authentication Missing error twice when EB starts up. I know I'm entering the right info because if i type it wrong EB returns "Error connection to Sabnzbd. Sabnzbd returned 'Missing authentication'." but when I type it correctly it just saves the settings.
