Hi,
Rather than the current option in 0.4.0 Beta 2 of being able to select the number of times to check RSS feeds a day, I think it would be useful to be able to specify a specific checking schedule, in a similar way to the current scheduling feature which allows pausing/resuming of the queue.
Due to the bandwidth metering employed by my ISP, I can only download at specific times of the day (for only eight hours a day), so it does not make sense to keep checking RSS feeds the rest of the time.
Cheers,
Rob
RSS Check Schedule
Re: RSS Check Schedule
We'll have a look at your suggestion.
However, the current design was choosen to avoid excessive load on sites
like newzbin and tvnzb.com.
A random time within the interval is picked to do the actual query. Otherwise sites will
see that a whole group of people pound them on each full and half hour.
Other than that, if you set RSS query to 4 timer per day, I see no problem.
OK, some queries are wasted, but that's only a light load, for you or the queried site.
