Write speed to external USB 1 It's all I've got

Post by superuser00 »

Hello.

I've running version 0.5 on a DL380 with 130GB of internal disk storage. The DL380 G3 can only handle USB1 and I have two external 500GB disks hanging off the usb ports.

My current setup is to download to my internal disk then unrar and unpar off to the external disk. This works fine, but am not off loading quicker than am downloading.

My question is.

Is there anyway I can use my external hard disk as the download folders where sabnzbd writes to ? without having the cache issues (where it downloads some then takes forever to write to disk)

Is there a way of working out the USB write speed and then setting my download speed just below that write speed ? So that it can only download as fast it can write

Any ideas would be welcomed.

Whether or not you delay SABnzbd, your total download time will not change much.
If you do want to even out the download speed, you'll have to experiment with the speedlimit.
