Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.

5.02 missing files
When I try to download some nzbs it gives me an error saying failed to download because of newsgroup retention (Astraweb). But they download fine with other clients.

There may be something wrong with your folder settings.
Check carefully.
Under some circumstances SABnzbd may think it writes files to a certain folder
only to find out the OS put them somewhere else.
Check the log for warnings.
