Do you experience problems during downloading?
Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings.
Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.
Every time I go to download something I will get invalid username/pass warning with the server "blocked". I've noticed this on more than one computer. The only way I can seem to get around this is to have only 1 connection. Has anyone seen this?
All machines are running 0.5.3...
If I hit unblock, it'll downlaod for a bit then goes to the same error. This only appears to be happening with SabNZBd. I also talked to one other person on another forum who had the same issue and started around the same time.
the odd thing is that it works with one connection, or with another program with multiple connections
the one connection thing kind of points to the provider, but the fact it works with multi connections with another piece of software points back to sabnzbd
Ditto except I use powerusenet.com. Just started doing this July 31. Been using 0.5.2 for months. I can do 3 connections fine but no more. Can't try SSL as I don't have that option with my account level.
I wrote to their support and he said other people have complained of the same thing and he asked me to set my password to something that's only 7 chars or less, alphanumeric. That didn't work for me.
I'm willing to help dev debug by running scripts or collecting logs if they want.
UPDATE: I changed my password to 6 alphanumeric characters (as suggested by support) and it appears to be working well now.

I have remedied the solution (defined as using all 30 Supernews connections with SSL) by doing the following.
Changing password to lower case upper case digit digit ... etc and I've used a total of 7 characters. Special characters such as %, ^ break connectivity immediately.
If 3 connections works consistently, then I might as well just stick to 3 connections. I am still saturating my download bandwith with only 3 connections so it makes no difference to me. I had to use all 20 connections with Astraweb in order to achieve maximum download speed.
Thanks for the tips, all.
Edit: sheesh, even 2 is enough to get max speeds, supernews is much faster than astraweb (~1.3MB/s/thread vs ~150KB/s/thread).

Ok, just heard back from our contact at Giganews. As expected, this was an issue with their authenticator and not with SABnzbd. Please try logging in again with whatever number of connections you'd normally use.
