It looks like 0.4.0RC3 has an improvement which is not mentioned in the announcement: when selecting "SSL" you don't need to explicitly specify port 563. That's quite handy!

As far as I know, there is no fixed port for SSL email. E.g. Google has two different ports, I always have to look up which one to use.

Sorry: I was talking about the NNTP SSL connection, in other words the NNTPS on 563.

For secure NNTP it's even more true, there is no standard port
