SABnzbd stopped downloading and won't start again...

Hi,

Out of the blue, my sabnzbd stopped downloading without any reason at all.
My harddrives are not full, the given usenet details are correct and working (verified on another PC) and the logfile doesn't report any errors.
I've already rebooted the PC and did a clean reboot of sabnzbd, but still it doesn't download anything. I also removed and readded my usenet provider details, didn't help either.
The speed stays at 0KB/s and the ETA keeps saying 'uknknown' and no it's not paused either.

I have no idea what could be causing this so I hope you guys can help me out here.
This installation has been working flawless for 2 years. It's up to date running the latest version of SABnzbd+ 0.6.14 on a Windows XP 32-bit machine using the Windows installer.

Any insight in this problem is well appreciated

A bit radical, but try this:
Stop SABnzbd
Press WindowsKey-R
Type (including quotes):
"c:\program files\sabnzbd\sabnzbd.exe" --clean
Press Enter

This will wipe the queue, byte counters and RSS memory.

Thanks, that did the trick... Sadly I have to re-add 500GB of queued NZBs again now.

Occasionally people complain about his.
So far we've never been able to analyze the actual problem into causes.

Should it happen again, you could try the less devastating "Reconstruct Queue" on the Status page.

However, in this case it's likely that one of the job's admin was corrupted.
I should have asked you to remove the job at the top of the queue first.

This problem just occured again. However,this time I waited a little bit longer and after 15 minutes SABnzbd started downloading automatically again by itself..
What could be causing this odd behavior?

Update: I have noticed some odd behavior:
Altough it make look like SAB is not downloading, the amount of MB that needs to be downloaded is decreasing, but the speed is 0b/s... How's that possible?
The ETA is unknown and connections are 0.

I'll wait and see what happens when the current download finishes.

Update2: Found it. It was trying to download something out of retention, however I did not get an warning/error like usual...

Starting with 0.6.0, we stopped warning about each and every missing article.
It wasn't very helpful.
However, when you hover the mouse cursor over a downloading job, the popup will show how many
articles were already missed. This gives you some indication.

Thanks, that explains why I wasn't getting the errors I was expecting

One question tho: One can set the server's retention in the config section. Is it possible to have SABNZBD automatically remove NZBs older than that day? Since now it keeps trying to download it anyway, and for 16GB+ files, that still takes ages.

It doesn't actually try to download anything.
There's some overhead involved in discarding the article data
that needs to be optimized away some time.
