Everything I download fails
Hi all, since a couple days everything I download from any site (nzbmatrix, mysterbin etc) fails with the following error; "Repair failed, not enough repair blocks"
I have tried on several PC's at home and on each PC get the same error. The error occurs on no matter the age of the file I try downloading, have just rebilt this PC and still getting the same error. Am using giganews and have had them check my account on no issues on my account. Would appreciate any help.

Re: Everything I download fails
Failed downloads are sadly no exception, such is the state of Usenet.
If you think SABnzbd is the cause, try to download a failed NZB with another program.
Try for instance Grabit.

Re: Everything I download fails
ok I'm going to try an alternative program and will check back in once I've tested, thanks shypike
Re: Everything I download fails
I have the same issue. Failed NZB's on SABNZB are downloading fine on Grabit.
Re: Help With Categories
Ok, in that case, please email the NZB to [email protected]sammy7 wrote:I have the same issue. Failed NZB's on SABNZB are downloading fine on Grabit.
Add the url of this post.
Which one is your Usenet provider?
You might want to set the "send group" option in Config->Switches.
Re: Everything I download fails
I'm running into the same issue - looking at the messages I see that it says there's missing posts all over the place, however Grabit downloads the same articles fine. It's also not happening on all NZB files, some work fine. I have 2 backup servers set up and the same articles seem to be missing there when it tries as well. I'll send a few of the NZB files along in a few...
Re: Everything I download fails
Hrm, scratch that... grabit had the right file sizes, didn't show any errrors whatsoever, but the download still seems screwed.
Re: Everything I download fails
(using SABnzbd 0.7.3 on Mac OS X)
Possibly related, came to the forum looking to see if the bug I'm encountering was known yet.
In my case, every download finished with a failure, because the downloaded archive supposedly required a password. With one download, that's possible. With two, maybe. But not five in a row, when I know for sure that the last one didn't require a password when it was downloaded a week ago.
As it turns out, there was a .RAR file in my destination folder that *did* require a password. Every time SAB downloaded a new NZB, it tried to extract that RAR file, and *that* was triggering the password required-error. Deleting the protected RAR file solved it (moving it out of the downloads-folder probably would have worked as well).
Perhaps you're experiencing a similar issue? It could be that a previous download failed but is still in your temporary folder, and for every new download it's trying to repair that old download again? I found out by checking the notices page, the failure notice was for the RAR file that wasn't in the download SAB had just completed.
For my own bug, the failed extraction, a possible solution could be that SAB maintains a log during post-processing of which files were extracted from the actually downloaded file. I don't particularly care if it tries to extract other RAR files (i.e. not in the log for that post-processing session) that are in my downloads folder, but if one of those fails it shouldn't mark the fresh download as having failed. It could issue a warning or notice, but since it's unrelated to that particular download (which extracted just fine) the download should not be marked as failed.

Re: Everything I download fails
Normally this cannot happen.
Unpacking is done from a temporary folder always.
However, unpacking is recursive and especially passworded rar files
are often packed in an additional rar layer.
Possibly such a rar file, combined with storing all downloads in a single folder could cause a problem.
Since you give few details about your setup, I don't have enough info to start looking for a bug.

Re: Everything I download fails
I am experiencing the same problem. I am using the FREE Account, not sure if that of any use. I am new to this, so not really sure what info you require or where to find it. A friend of mine set it up for me, i am in south africa and using news.mweb.co.za.
Every movie I've tried downloading thus far has failed right at the end. last message i got was:
Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (633 short)
This is the message i always receive with the numbers being different each time. I also had error messages on top left of sabnzbd, something to do with server.
I have Avast antivirus, i read on a forum that some setting needed to be removed (port), did that and never received those error messages again.
Now the only problem is that all my downloads fail. with the above message.
Please help

Re: Everything I download fails
Under config > Servers > Test server - I get this message -> (10061, "Failed to connect: (10060, 'timed out') -[email protected]:119")
Re: Everything I download fails
That means that the sever is off-line or doesn't want to talk to you.zypher10 wrote:Under config > Servers > Test server - I get this message -> (10061, "Failed to connect: (10060, 'timed out') -[email protected]:119")
Re: Everything I download fails
If its offline shouldnt it be so all the time? coz all downloads fail when there is less than 10mb left, then it wont repair itself.
Could someone in south africa assist me with the correct setup?

Re: Everything I download fails
When it fails again, you can do a quick test yourself.
Use the telnet program (Linux or OSX) or Putty (Windows).
This should show you the server's signon. If not, it's off-line.

Code: Select all
