Hi everyone,
I'm having some troubles with sab/unrar/par2/python.
As said in the title, par2 is not repairing damaged part but damaging them !!!
Please have a look at the par2 output : http://pastebin.com/m5Vxrsbf
I'll try tonight to run a memtest (I read that par2 reads from RAM and write to HDD) perhaps I have RAM problem.
I already check my HDDs with Ubuntu Disk Utility and it came back with no errors.
Please let me knowif you have an idea where the problem could comefrom?
Thanks
Bye

Re: Par2Repair is damaging and not repairing !
Hard to tell.
While par2 is quite reliable, that doesn't mean it infallible.
If it's not memory or disk issues, then it could be a bug in par2.
I sympathize with your plight; this is no easy problem to solve.
If the NZB involved is not extremely large, please email it to [email protected]
I can do some checks to help you narrow down the issue.

I don't think a majority of users will agree.bugmenot2 wrote:
So maybe it is better to have many repair blocks instead of just north of the number you need.
This is an extremely exceptional case.
I'm still interested in the NZB.

There's nothing I can do for you without the actual NZB file.
Please send it to [email protected]

OK, fair enough. It's not that I blame anyone, but it's hard to say something about odd casesbugmenot2 wrote:I was just asking some questions although I am reading quickpar is old and I think it doesn't work too well.
And suggesting that the original poster needs more repair blocks.
when there's no more evidence available than some logging.
The first step to fixing things is being able to reproduce the problem.
That's why I often ask for example NZB files, like in this case. Do you have one?
QuickPar should be OK and it isn't even as old as the par2 program used by SABnzbd.
They are both very reliable, but that doesn't mean they're flawless.
Even with the shown behaviour, SABnzbd should be able to signal this and flag the job as failed.
If not, then that could very well be a bug.
So far I have never seen such a problem myself, so without an example NZB, there's not much a I can do.
