Some help would be insanely appreciated

Post by baggachipz »

OK, I'm almost at the end of my rope here. After finally getting fed up with windows, I've installed Ubuntu 13.10 on my machine and only so far installed sabnzbd, sickbeard, and couch potato. I've followed standard installation guides, installing from PPAs.

I've dug through forums, tried everything I can think of, and I still can't get a download to work. What do I mean by "work"? Well, I have a queue of (currently) 3 items; two sent from CouchPotato and one from SickBeard. The first item in the queue has a status of "Downloading" if I hover over it; however, not a single byte is ever fetched. It's "stuck" for lack of a better term. There has to be some setting or folder permission I'm missing, but I'll be damned if I can find it.

Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about:

No errors to be found in the log:

My news server connection supposedly works:

So, there it is. Can anybody think of any ideas? I'll gladly post screens of other areas if need be. Any help is VERY appreciated.

I would do this: get a .NZB from binsearch (for example http://binsearch.info/index.php?q=ubunt ... &postdate= ) and put it into the SABnzbd webinterface. Does it download?
If not, remove or pause the other items. Does it download?

If not, then further checks:
- what is the number of Connections in your newsserver settings?
- what if you stop the sabnzbdplus service, and start it from the commandline: post the screen output here.

Thanks for your quick reply and suggestions!

I got a nzb like so (making sure to get one less than the lame 300 day retention of my provider):

... and I loaded it into SABnzbd, pausing others and putting it on "force" priority:

And still nothing.

Number of connections is 30, as specified on frugalusenet:

Restarting sanzbd seems to work fine:

And... holy dog balls.

OK, so I've gotta ask... why did the command-line restart fix it? I "restarted" SAB several times through the browser, I figured that was enough to write off a restart fix. Thank you a ton for your help, I really appreciate it. Now, to figure out why it didn't execute the sabtoSickbeard script for a tv show and move it appropriately....

Thanks again.

Great it works, and thank you for your followup/feedback.

Sometimes SABnzbd seems 'locked' and a SAB/system restart solves things.

BTW: I would lower the number of connections from 30 to 5 or 10. It will NOT lower your download speed.
