Version 0.7.5
Windows 8
TV shows seem to be downloading fine. When I download larger movie files (4 gig or higher), Windows blue screens on me during the unpacking of the movie. When I reboot Windows, Sab starts but the queue is missing. If I try to repair the files, it blue screens again. I had the same issue with 0.7.4.
Any ideas?

Re: Sab crashes Windows 8 when large file is downloaded
Bluescreens on Windows nowadays have only a limited set of causes.
Hardware problems, buggy drivers or just a bug in the OS.
User-level apps do not crash Windows due to their own bugs.
Besides, it looks like it's happening when unrar runs, which is beyond our control.
The only recent issue we discovered, which might strain hardware, is a memory leak
in some circumstances. Try release 0.7.6Beta1 for that.
Even so, such an issue will not bluescreen Windows, unless there's a hidden
problem in the hardware or Windows.

Re: Sab crashes Windows 8 when large file is downloaded
Probably a system problem, not a SABnzbd problem. To check that hypothesis, you can set the Processing of a download to "+Repair" (which will do the par2, but not the unrar). If it all goes well, do the unrar from the command line or explorer. If that crashes your system, you have the proof it's NOT in SABnzbd.jthacker48 wrote:Version 0.7.5

Furthermore, to test your hardware, run memtest86.
EDIT: if "+Repair" leads to crash, only select " Download" as Processing option. Then run par2 manually, and then unrar.
Re: Sab crashes Windows 8 when large file is downloaded
I have Windows 8 and no such problems, even with big files.
Most likely a RAM problem I guess.

Re: Sab crashes Windows 8 when large file is downloaded
Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping it was a simple fix with Sab not a problem with my PC and operating system. Thanks for alerting me though. Ill try all suggestions offered above and report back.
