It's on my server from OVH in Canada.

I followed the setup, it said if you install sabnzbdplus from the cmd, you just jump to the How To Start. I have tried it 5 times, all kinds of ways, it just doesn't show in the browser.

How about this setup..http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/quick-setup

Thanks for any help..

Do you know the IP address of the system? If not, check with "ip address show" or "ifconfig"

The, login on the machine with SSH, and type:

Code: Select all

sabnzbdplus -s 0.0.0.0:8080 -b 0
Keep it running, and start up your browser locally and point it to http://<ip-address-of-server>:8080/

What do you get?

you want me to do this in the terminal correct? I know the IP address...I am using Putty to access the terminal.

Should I install it according to that link I sent you?

I hope you can help me, well we did get the Sabnzbdplus config screen up in the browser. Is there anyway to check to make sure it's running in the background? I know it's not associated with .NZB yet.
What's next? Thanks for the help....

Did you fill out the config screens?

If so, do you now get the normal SABnzbd screen? Can you download NZBs?

everything is working now, but I had put a password in for Sabnzbd when I did the config, how can I remove it, I don't want to keep typing. Will this run when I reboot my PC, someone told me I need to added sabnzbdplus -D?

I am running this version SABnzbd Version: 0.6.15, there is a newer one, how can I upgrade?

password? In the SABnzbd webinterface? If so: in SABnzbd Config -> General, staring at "SABnzbd Username"

http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/install-ubuntu-repo tells you how to upgrade to a newer version, and how to start it as a service. However, I would only do that if you really understand the SABnzbd basics.

Thank you

Can I run Sabnzbd Windows 8 and Ubuntu 12.04 together, without complications? I know about the Usenet provider connection limit.

I have Sabnzbd running now in Windows 8, if I go and install Sabnzbdplus using these commands.

sudo apt-get install sabnzbdplus
sabnzbdplus

There should no problems running like this? Again Thank you

I hope this is right I went back to the original thread.

As you said "everything is working now", I thought you had SABnzbd running on your remote Ubuntu system?

Yes it was, but I didn't have it running in my Windows 8 desktop, I am new to running a server, I didn't realize that once something went to my server, I had to download it to my PC, which was double the work. I'm not sure if I am going to keep the server, or not again didn't realize that it has it's limitations on what you can run as a program on it. You were a big help..I love this Sabnzbd.. I have a Newsleecher, Newsrover, all registered. I never use them since Sabnzbd...

Thank you

I was confused in the install setup, it says if you use sudo apt-get install sabnzbdplus, you then just jump to sabnzbdplus... Here it is..

Attention: As of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid, SABnzbd is part of the standard Ubuntu repository "multiverse". Installing SABnzbd is easy:

Start the Software Center and search "sabnzbd" (or "sabnzbdplus"). Then click Install.
Or, from the command line with "multiverse" enabled, type "sudo apt-get install sabnzbdplus".
If you use this method, you can skip the first parts and jump to "How To Start"

So is this right? sudo apt-get install sabnzbdplus, you then just jump to sabnzbdplus..

So ... what do you want: SABnzb on a remote Ubuntu server (with the double work if you want to move the content over Internet to another machine), or on your local Windows machine?
