1. Make sure you have defined a Usenet server address (and made it non-backup).
2. Do you have some third-party utility that tries to communicate with SABnzbd (e.g. nzbStatus)?
If so,  update it or set the apikey in its setup.

Have you looked at our Wiki?

I just loaded nzbstatus and I have "Pan".  I am also reading the wiki. I thought I had it figured out but that is not the case.

Email your sabnzbd.ini file (after removing passwords) to [email protected]
If you can, send also the logfile sabnzbd.log.

I looked in home and unless I did something wrong  :'( there is not a thing in there.  I think I figured it out-- I think i did.. well my password for the program and my user name  and password for the news groups are not the same. Some how the name and pass word for the news group was in the place where I log on to Sabnzbd.  This conflicted with the user name  and pass word that was in the config page for the third party program.  This is what I think was giving

me the missing API Key warning.  I changed the name and pass word on the third party system so that it would reconize the user name and password I used to open  SABnzb and the missing API keys warning went A WAY. Man that was tough

Generating useful error messages is an art itself.
I'll have a look at improving this particular part.
