Unpack folders

Post by thesmackdown »

Hi all,

I have a handful of _Unpack_ folders that have files in them that were not moved.

I am not sure why they are suddenly appearing. I have 'Enable folder rename' checked. I also had 'Direct Unpack' check (I have unchecked it to see if that solves this).

There are files in the folders that seem to play ok - are these files complete?

Thanks!

For now delete them and see if you can identify why it's happening.
Are you on Windows? There locks of virusscanners can cause problems.
It could also be Direct Unpack crashes, hard to tell.
Are you on 2.3.2?

It's been a bit of a mystery why sometimes these folders remain, especially on Windows.
We tell Windows "delete file x" and it will tell us "ok, delete done", but actually the file only gets deleted a few seconds later because it's still doing checks etc.

But to know better, could you enable Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window?
Then after it happens again, download the log from that window and send it to [email protected]?

This is happening to me. Can I enable to debug logging and send to the email address you provided also?

You can. Before sending, search for the word ERROR and maybe you can already see what error it is giving. There is also a line that says "Can't delete" I think, which would indicate this problem.
