Slower than expected on a 2.5GB Broadband...only getting 140MB/s?

Post by allogic »

Hello all,

I know this is not really an issue but I have a 2.5GB connection and the test results show speed that should allow me to get full speeds:

Code: Select all

Used cache 0 B (0 articles)
System load 0.89 | 0.89 | 1.22 | V=185M R=131M
System performance (Pystone) 184671 Intel(R) Pentium(R) Silver N6005 @ 2.00GHz SSSE3 Docker
Download folder speed 1222.4 MB/s /incomplete-downloads
Complete folder speed 1309 MB/s /complete
Internet Bandwidth 380.17 MB/s 3041.36 Mbps
Is the CPU holding me back?

The 10GB test file also comes down around 135-145MB/s

My usenet are at 50 Connections, I did start with 8 and work my way up.

I've followed the guide here and set everything accordingly https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/advanced/highspeed-downloading

But still can't get over 150MB/s, any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

It's the CPU.
Pystone of 184671 is low.
Intel(R) Pentium(R) Silver N6005 @ 2.00GHz
The SSSE3 is also quite old..
Maybe NZBGet can squeeze more out of it.

Ah...good old Topton n6005. I'll see about overcooking the CPU to see if I can get some more MB/s out of.

Thanks

From a 2.5GB Connection, well..around 250MB/s ;) Well around 200MB/s would be ok.

I'l do some tweaking to see if I can get fater.

Cheers!

You're running in docker. Is that a must? Or can you run SABnzbd straight on OS (Linux, I suppose)? Even for a test it's nice.

Also: if this is on your home connection: did you check SABnzbd on a faster PC?

I'm runing unRaid, so yea...Docker is a must, or a VM. But after my tests with NZBGET seems that the bottleneck is gone, so i'll just update Prowlarr, sync and move to NZBGET.

What's odd as a while back I did try NZBGET on another host and it didn't perform any better. Wonder what's changed?

Yes, other Machines give the full speed...but it is a i9, 128GB on 10GBe, so no issue there.

thanks for your time sir! Sander

Yea yea...I know, but for now its a system that I don't need to manage and let ansible take care of it ;)
