Port Error message

Post by mrblobby »

Hi,

Im using version latest version of sabnzbd 0.5.3 and Mac 10.6.4

Everything has been working perfect for months when suddenly tonight I got the following message for no reason

SABnzbd needs a free tcp/ip port for its internal web server.
Port 443 on localhost was tried , but it is not available.
Some other software uses the port or SABnzbd is already running.

Please restart SABnzbd with a different port number.

Its been using this port since day 1 and I haven't changed anything. I tried changing port but same error.

Also the sabnzbd arrow logo doesn't disappear from the menu bar and when you hold the curser over it, you see the busy sign.

any help appreciated

Port 443? What a strange port; normally 8080 is used. On most Unix system (so I guess on Mac OS X too) you need to have special rights to listen on a port below 1024.

So have you tried port 8080?

A second thing I don't understand: Since Sabnzbd 0.5.0 (or 0.5.2) has a auto-find of a free port. What doesn't that kick in for your SAB?

BTW: If SABnzbd is not running, how have you changed the port it's trying to use?
